Apartment Review for The Lakes Apartments - Raleigh, NC

Overall, The Lakes was not a bad place to live. The apartments were a bit run down but worth the price. Don't count on the fitness equipment being functional and contrary to what they say, there is no sauna. Maintenance was very poor and maintenance requests had a funny way of getting lost, possibly since they were always scribbled on sticky notes by office staff. As far as getting a security deposit back, don't keep your fingers crossed. And always, ALWAYS get a receipt for everything. Management is very good about misplacing keys, rent checks, and other correspondance. Also, keep all receipts after you move out to avoid false accusations about unpaid expenses.
