Apartment Review for The Lakes Apartments - Raleigh, NC

I do not recommend this apartment complex whatsoever. The office staff fails to turn in maintenance requests or only writes up partial requests. There are roaches in the living room/dining room/patio, silverfish in my bedroom, and some tiny mini-roach-like bugs in my bathroom. The fridge makes knocking noises, the AC/heating is older than dirt and is insufficient (especially in the winter) and incredibly wasteful. My power bill (which includes heating) was averaging around $180/mo to try and heat my one-bedroom apartment on the third floor - and it was STILL cold. Water pressure is touch-and-go, the floors are uneven and the hood on the stove and knobs on the cabinets were covered in thick grease when I moved in. There's water damage under all the sinks, and there's a leak in my roof. The circuit breakers are mislabelled. The handle fell off of my sliding glass door. The washing machines in the laundromat leak water all over the floor and the air conditioning unit they have mounted in the wall of the laundromat was leaking water into the electrical outlet in which it was plugged. This place is a dump. They need to stop funnelling money into all the "community activities" and actually fix up their apartments!
